Too many lies in the skincare industry!

I recently received a sample of a skin care product toting to be “organic”. This sample came from a MLM rep who was attempting to private label a brand and distribute it to Brides via a contest on twitter. Curious, I filled out their form, and received a sample. When I opened it I read their promotional insert that bragged about being a 100% organic beauty product. I thought, “I know this brand, they say they are natural, but they certainly dont say ORGANIC in their advertising”. I called a friend who IS an experienced Representative, and clarified the information. “Your right Jen” she said. “xxxxx company is not Organic, but Natural, and we don’t use blank, and blank and blank”.

Oh boy was I mad! I know first hand how expensive it is to certify your business to be “Certified Organic”. It’s very costly! I just wish people wouldn’t make claims they can’t back.

Previous to this I had attended a Natural Skin Care “party” at a friend’s house. She gave me a flyer that I read called “Unmasked; 10 Ugly truths behind the Myth of Cosmetic Safety”. I went on their database, and entered the brand names of products we use in our house, and have since TRASHED quite a few products.

Don’t get me the wrong way, I know the natural & organic products are many times more expensive, and a lot of times not available in many of the stores we shop in. So when you run out of something, it’s not so easy to replace your hand cream or sunscreen.

We have to be prepared, and think ahead.

So, that being said, I am going to own up to my new findings tonight and order MY favorite skin care from: www.OmAroma.com, some products for Alexis (she has very sensitive skin) from www.Absolutegreen.biz and www.NurturingOrganics.com.

For the record, I’m not being compensated in any way to promote any of these businesses. I just believe in them, and their products.

If you’d like to research your Cosmetic products, go to: www.SafeCosmetics.com if your favorite manufacturer isn’t listed SUGGEST to them that they get listed! They’ll probably thank you. I did!
